As we begin our trip in 2016 our son Ben is at Wake Tech in Raleigh.
Here he is with our grand dog Azura

He will not be in a position to travel with us because he is learning about all things Mechanical engineering. We are a close family and we talk often. We call each other every few days to complain to each other about the state of the world. He is my go to guy for all my IT problems. We use a program called team viewer. It gives him the ability to take control of my mouse from another city. it is a free download and it works great for us.
The water picture below is him at 13. I just always thought he shined that day.

In order to fund his Adventure he does a rickshaw job where he works for tips.
It's jobs like this that really form character and it about killed him.
He spoke one time about how two really large women wanted him to pull them around town and he did that for a mile and then they gave him like $0.20 tip.
Then went to Wake Tech for a bit more than a year and he needed to use his education fund to pay rent but now it's all gone and he had to kind of hit rock bottom a little bit on a lazy streak he had going.
For about 6 months India and I had to kind of do the tough love thing and we gave him some money but we had to stop together because he wasn't getting off the sofa.
When you finally did hit bottom he went to Overhead Door Corporation and got a job and became an excellent installer and moved up the ranks immediately inside of six months he was their favorite new guy
I went back an edited desk for years later and now we are about nine months past covid-19 in January of 2021.
He just recently got a really great job at UNC as a temporary position.
He's setting up 800 computers at a healthcare facility and they seem to imply that it could lead to a full-time position.
He has decided to build a Skoolie which is creating an RV out of an old school bus.
He hopes to get a remote only job and travel about in his new rig and work from an IT remote help desk job.
Of course we're proud of him and we've actually been the financial backers of these Adventures but we feel like this is our way of seeing our kids become the best they can be
