Ben and I had spent 10 days back in August in Chattanooga and we were working on the Kayak rack. I bought a piece of uni strut from Lowes and we never used it, I had always meant to return it but never did. I brought it along with us to either use or something. Well it does weigh 20 pounds and you need to keep an eye on excess weight as it affects your MPG. I decided to return it this week,, to Lowes 9 months after the fact. Keep in mind I had no receipt and the credit card it was purchased with had expired. Two nights earlier I had a plan. Ben and I went into a Lowes in Raleigh with my razor knife to peel off a bar code from a piece of uni strut as mine had worn off from being rained on for 9 months. Uni strut is galvanized so it still looked brand new.

I destroyed several stickers trying but then Ben stepped in and got me a good sticker. He such a great guy. I bought him a new toilet seat and we left.
Its two days later and we are at Lowes in Wake Forest and I gently placed the borrowed bar code on the uni-strut and returned it for store credit. No real harm was done as I had paid for it 9 months ago. The process does make me look a little crazy though. I can only imagine the three uni-strut customers at the checkout in the future where some Lowers cashier is saying over the store intercom, we need a price check up here. Somehow the bar codes on this strut is all mangled up. Ben and I hung out at Lowes a little and messed with the free internet and it was just nice to goof around with him because it will be awhile before I see him again. Thanksgiving actually.
