As India and I got back home Sunday afternoon it was probably about 5 o'clock or so and I just can't go straight home apparently. We are riding down the road and I saw a sign that said Wilderness Park. It intrigued me so I took a right and followed the sign and there was even a reminder sign after a while then it just kind of came to a dead end. If you went straight you would be in Lake Michigan, but really no signage at this point. We just took the right there thinking well that's the Wilderness Park going down a ways and it just kind of came to a dead end with a bunch of residential houses. I said well that's not the way so I went the other way and we probably could've go for an hour or two. Finally I said India, let's put it in the GPS and when we did it says it six more miles and I said you got to be kidding. We decided we did not need to go to the Wilderness Park.
There's a hundred ways to do the next move but my way is doing an impulsive U turn in a very small two-lane road. I kind of like felt like I was listing a little bit on the right side so I stopped for a minute and I was going to back up and the back wheel started spinning. One thing you need to know about dually trucks is they will pull tremendous loads for you all day but unless they're four-wheel drive there is like no traction at all. You can actually be in wet grass and get stuck just on the flat ground. Here I am I'm kind of fanny up in the air, front wheels down a little in a ditch. It becomes obvious I'm not going anywhere. because I'm just spinning. A wonderful person came by and asked if I needed help and I said yes I do. He looked to see if he had a rope and he did not. All I had was a clothesline rope which as you might imagine is not really going to do the trick. I quadrupled it and he was able to pull me out. The clothes line snapped in the midst of it but I was out by then. We breathed a sigh of relief and went home with my tail tucked in a little for being so foolish.
