This sideways video shows how much fun the little kids were having on the playground before the movie started. I had done the exact same thing as a kid at the Skyline drive in Greensboro.
We left Canada and were tempted to go to Detroit and Flint but decided some other time or maybe never. I would like to see the Henry Ford Museum but not all the despair. I think some other year would be better. We had planned on stopping at the Bay City recreation area . Its kind of the first thing we would get to in Michigan. We only wanted to daytime boondock for lunch and a good nap. As we entered the park there was a guard house and a person taking money for day use and camping. As we got close we noticed the park ranger walking away from us towards the bathroom area. This was so ideal we just rolled on in at no cost while she was in the potty. I really enjoyed the cheap thrill of getting in free. I found a remote part of the parking lot and we pushed the slide out out and I cranked the generator and we stayed for a few hours then back on the road again. We ended up at the Traverse City Fairgrounds and it was really cool so we stayed there for two days. The next day we did a Scenic Drive so we went west to follow the michigan shoreline north to see the Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Cherry Grove Farm Orchards and there was a big Cherry National Cherry Festival going on in Traverse City that was all very exciting.

Sleeping Bear dunes/ Almost 3 times higher than Jockeys ridge

On our scenic dive we found a drive in and had to go. We were there right at 9 pm to see the movie because that's when it gets dark, NOT. Come to find out it actually gets dark at 10:30 pm in Traverse city so we counted the gravels in the road for a while.

The show sold out and I loved how people came and really got comfortable. These people brought their dogs to the movies and the looked more like their babies to me. I asked them if I could take their picture because they gave me such a laugh.
