We left Idaho and Seattle was 6 or 7 hours so we stopped halfway at Vantage Washington near Ellensburg at a Boon dock location. It was described as such:
WA, VANTAGE: Pkg areas. No facilities. Free. No restrictive signs. I-90 MM 139. EB: N46 58.18 W119 57.996. 3 mi E of Vantage, across bridge over Columbia Riv. Lg gravel lot, close to interstate, slightly sloped, any size rig. Continue on pavement up to viewpoint to paved level lot, OK for rigs up to 26'. Great views of Columbia Gorge. 1/4 mi hike to Wild Horses Monument (steel sculptures). WB: 46.97395 -119.96847. Close to & separate area from EB one. Paved rd to cul-de-sac OK for lg-rig-turnaround if not too congested. Distant view of horse sculptures but no connection to EB area & trail
When we got there it was just as described and we settled in for the night. It was very windy that night and hard to sleep. It was blowing bout 25 mph or so constantly and so I actually positioned the rig into the wind to give the least resistance and because I didn't want us to blow over on our side.
There was a ridiculous amount of trash all over the place so the next morning we all got a bag and did a trash sweep.

Windmills were really cranking it out that day.

It was a really nice pull over with a scenic view. We parked and stayed the night. It was very windy. I might point out and I took some pictures of some windmills that were really cool along the way. As we parked the Columbia River was right below us. The wind was so strong like in excess of 30 mph. I aimed the RV at an angle to be as aerodynamic as possible.
I noticed that the species some people called Americans have been littering a lot. I had decided the three of us would do a beach sweep at this rest area because it was filthy. We did and the girls weren't very motivated, so I lost it for them being so lazy. After a certain amount of showing my butt in public ranting and raving we got about three bags each full of garbage. We managed to call it a day after that and moved on down towards Seattle.
