India, I had wanted to go to see La Push. It is on the northwest Pacific coast and we heard it was beautiful and that there was a great affordable restaurant there. We had thought about dropping by as we left Sol Duc on the way to the SKP Park in Chimacum. When we left Sol Duc, we felt that we had already delayed by 2 or 3 days and didn't want to reschedule the reservation again at Escapees because we thought it might make us look dumb. We got on the road and went straight to Chimacum which is near Port Townsend and we checked in and spend a few days just kind of settling in. On the weekend I had suggested to India that it was a shame we had to go past La Push and Mora and so we made a Saturday of it. It was about a 2 1/2-hour one way and we went by ourselves as Savannah really wasn't feeling it. As we got close, we saw a campground called Mora and La Push is just a few more miles. At this point you really are at the Pacific Ocean and it’s on an Indian Reservation. When looking out looking out at the Pacific Ocean you see these islands just abruptly hopping up out of the water. They have very sharp cliffs with trees growing on top. It looks like it's something you would want to kayak out to and camp for a while. I'm sure Native Americans have done so for a long time. It’s also looked like high ground if you need a lookout point for some battle or if you wanted to keep invaders from the sea from bothering your village. I took a lot of pictures and we had a nice lunch. We heard about a nice restaurant we had dinner there. There as a road following the Pacific Coast that I thought went all the way to Neha Bay. It’s kind of just became a dead end. If we wanted to go there, we would have we just had to go back to the main road and take another route.

We got to a split in the road and we noticed that the road was very curvy and twisty and it said there was 25 miles more of this to get to the top northwest corner of Washington state which I'm sure was pretty but that kind of means 25 miles up to it and 25 miles back to where we are right now and it's about 4 o'clock so we figured it would be 6 or 7 just getting back to where we are. That would put us getting home really late we had to let that little thing go and we just went what we call the scenic route along the water way back towards Port Angeles. if we had looked at the travel guide, we would have realized they said don't bother because there's really nothing to see it's mostly just dense. forest and the roads aren't that great We had a good time trying and about the time we got to Port Angeles we were getting pretty tired. As we rode by, I saw that there was a John Wayne marina at the town called Sequim. ( Skwim) The next day was Sunday.
