Trinity United Methodist Church, Toledo, Oregon

Leaving Cape Disappointment, we went down the Oregon coast to Newport. We had heard that the Oregon Coastline going down the Southern California coastline would be very pretty but it's a twisty turnery road. I felt comfortable going about 40 miles an hour and I guess everybody else wanted to go over 65. I was a bit of a nuisance to the whole world because I was going so slow. I had planned to be much further along, but we had been on the road for 3 hours plus and no hope of making it to a good state park. After driving and driving we had only gone like sixty miles, so I was a little down about that. I wish I could make it sound more exciting, but it was just a place to sleep.

The morning came and it was a Sunday, so we always like to go to church somewhere. The only Methodist Church we could see was down a little Highway 20 East. It took us to a little town called Toledo Oregon. Everybody was friendly. The church was kind of hard to find up on a hill but as usual we had a nice visit. That little trip was about a 15-20-minute trip down a country road. When I got back to the Walmart that afternoon, I made the decision that this beautiful coastline thing wasn't going to work out. We were only getting 60 miles in three and four hours. We would never make it home by Thanksgiving at this rate. Like it or not I had to get on the interstate. We left Sunday afternoon from Newport, we got on that little Wiggly road called Highway 20 which is not much fun in the RV. We went east until we hit Interstate 5. One pretty long day later we made it to a town called Roseburg Oregon and stopped at Walmart and did the rinse repeat of 24 hours prior.
