The next day we left the sycamores and I guess I thought I might make it to Stockton or Modesto. Once again, we did the best, we could but it was three or four hours later and I was worn out when I saw a Flying J in Lodi California. Our intent was to go to a Lodi city of Parks and Recreation for a Boondock. It was dark and I spoke to a guy working there and he said the lake was 10 or 20 miles down a small 2 lane road. Going to an unknown place in the dark rarely ends well. We got fuel and the guy said you could just crash here, and I took him up on it. Normally this is a pretty bad because you are surrounded by very loud diesel in tractor trailers but for some reason, he was so nice, he pointed me towards a very quiet area. It was a football field away from all the big tractors and it was quiet and decent. We were thankful we spent the night there. Not much to report but just part of the trip.
