#74 Sort of near Morganton Castle Bridge Boat Access We tried to stay here , but not

I saw a place on the free camping.net site that said there was a boat ramp in a place called Granite Falls near Morganton It allows overnight parking so we gave it a whirl. We got there and it looked very good and made it in the daylight. We were nearly setup and a local guy came by and asked me a question or two. He just said I don't think you should leave that camper there unattended. I said well I guess we're basically thinking about just sleeping here tonight and so we're kind of really staying with it. All I can say is I don't think you're very safe here because the whole parking lot starts being full of meth each evening until God knows when. He said they steal everything that ain't tied down and don't mind stealing things that are tied down.

He suggested we just go ahead and find somewhere else to spend the night for her own safety. I asked him about the sheriffs. He said they don't patrol around here and he said that they didn't care anymore. They've given up on these hopeless cases. Hearing all this left and went towards Hickory to the nearest Walmart parking lot and went to sleep.
