#79 Falls Lake Campground on Baptist road in DURM hanging out with Ben for 2 weeks for Christmas

We had thought it would be nice to spend about a month with Ben in Raliegh. We had really been on the road and away and he might not admit it but he might be a little lonesome for his parents. We thought we could hang out near Ben for a while. I did somehow think being alone at Christmas would kind of stink a little. We stayed at Falls lake for about 13 days. Max is I think 14 days which landed on Christmas Eve the park is closed on Christmas Eve.

I had been listening to the advice of fellow from an RV repair place I’ve got to know named Dennis. I had asked Dennis prior to arriving in Wilmington for his advice on shock absorbers for the 5th wheel. They were ordered and I bought them and received them at Dennis s shop. In the process of meeting with him he said he didn't have time to do it. The guys next door really didn't feel comfortable with it and that's when he mentioned some welding was in order. He mentioned that one of the things that was wrong with the RV was the way the suspension was designed the wheels were too close together. This was a little disturbing because way back when I paid the $5,000 for a new suspension in Montana I don't think that would be such a cool thing for them to do at that for that kind of money. In their opinion it was the right thing to do but the wheels are too close together. I looked up a guy in Durham that did mobile welding and had him cut the leaf spring attachments and put some distance in between the wheels. Based on Dennis advice this would help stabilize the ride. I called these guys they came out to the rig and really did a bang-up job on relocating everything for before the holiday.
