This is the tallest waterfall in Florida and it falls in a subterranean pit opening in the middle of the woods

We had made plans to go to Falling waters state park. By the road signs, I could tell this area was one of the places Ponce De Leon has suspected was the fountain of youth. A few days out I started checking on availability. I was a little surprised that they had zero sites for my date. I found a dry camping spot as an alternative called Dead River. Even if we couldn’t stay the night, I thought we might enjoy a day visit. Our sewage tanks needed to be dumped and we needed to fill with fresh water. We paid the $8 dump tank entry fee. There was no potable water at the dumpsite so that was something to figure out later.

We parked the RV in a day-use lot down there near a trailhead. I saw a water spigot at the trailhead picnic shelter area. Next, it was a matter of how to position the rear of the RV at a water spigot and fill it up without causing too much attention. I'm glad it wasn't a busy day as we did take up a lot of parking spaces and a series of garden hoses were strewn all across the parking lot. It was just something I should have recorded on video as it looked like the crazy RV is invading. We got a full tank of water and parked on the perimeter out of everyone’s way. We went on a nice walk around the loop and saw things that related to Falling Waters State Park. There was a really pretty waterfall. It was a really strange underground waterfall. They said it was I said to believe they said the tallest waterfall in Florida. It was subterranean because you looked at it from a guardrail and it fell like 80 feet down. It was about the strangest thing but it was really interesting. The hike was a lazy loop that headed back to the trailhead and the RV. We gathered ourselves up and got back out on the highway to a place to camp for the night.
