Our next stop would be Lafayette and we always just look for what we can find. If there’s a state park that’s ideal if not harvest host is a great option. We found a place called The Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife. I called ahead and everything was fine. It was very nice we had a little shady spot right by a lake. The next day we went to the museum it represented what Lafayette might have been like maybe two hundred years ago. I had a wonderful talk with what appeared to be a 90-plus-year-old native Cajun lady. I just loved her to pieces and she was wonderful. At another one of the exhibits, a guy played the kind of pump organ accordion time Cajun music thing. It was so cool and I liked how he sang in French and I just loved it.

This was our site in the parking lot. It was great.
