I had never heard the phrase the Texas Hill Country until this year. Somebody up in Washington state said you really should see it when the flowers are blooming. I decided that come springtime I needed to try to be there. We were a little late but you can't be everywhere all at once. There are still tons of flowers but it's hard to find a field as pretty as the one I bounced into. I took some pictures as usual.

We left out of San Antonio and went towards the Hill Country and we decided to stop at Mason Texas. We thought we were staying in Fredericksburg but there wasn't a whole lot of availability or it was either overpriced. Mason had a little RV park run by the city of they were booked solid as this is the peak of the Texas wildflower season. A guy said you might try Dos Rios so we called them and they had a spot for Wednesday and Thursday and so we went with that. After we settled in we went on some wildflower tours as a family in the truck and it was very beautiful. We are glad we did it and it was just gorgeous Dos Rios means two rivers and the campground was perched way up above. We could look down at the rivers and on the second day, I went kayaking nobody else wanted to. One had portage the kayak over land to get to the bottom of the hill where because there's a place to put in down there.

This was a beautiful place but they needed us to leave Friday so we found a place in Llano Texas that had the coolest little place that was run by the Llano City Park

I have just fallen in love with Llano.

In Llano, we were riding around and saw the old jailhouse. There was a deer out front in prison clothes for being a drunk or who was behind on child support.

Each day we did the same thing. We rode around in the truck and looked at wild flarz. We went on a trek called the Willow Creek Loop. There were so many other places that were really pretty here but it was a nice place to find out what ranches and ranch lands are like.

We saw some cool Longhorn bulls.

I saw a sign that said the road was closed because of water but I took that as only a suggestion and pushed on. I've always been one to say well we don't know if that sign current or it’s a lot of trouble to take them all down after the water recedes. I drove down to where the creek was to see if it was still closed. It was a little high like I mean ankle-deep over the road but not that bad. I splashed straight through it. I thought it was fun for, not so much the girls. and then there were other places to cross the creek like 6 times and each time it was not that big a deal. There was this one time where I got a little bit nervous as it was a little deeper. I decided we could do it but let's get some speed up. I backed up a good bit got some speed up and plowed on through.

I took a cool video of it and that was all pretty exciting. We saw lots and lots of pretty wildflowers and met some wonderful people. We decided to go to church because I saw an advertisement on a blackboard at a coffee shop. It said church service here on Sunday morning so we went to the coffee shop Church and it was pretty cool. It was almost entirely listening to a guy play folk music on a small guitar and he was amazing. We had a great time so that was kind of our Llano experience. We had lunch at a cafe outside off the street and then we headed out.
