#135 Pecos Texas SKP park

From Iraan, it was too far to go to Carlsbad all the one day so we're going to Pecos to rest.

Pecos I'm sure it's a lovely place. We spent very little time there and did very there It was just kind of a place to sleep.

We stayed in Escapees RV park and the reviews mentioned it was probably 80% oil workers. I took a couple of pictures of the pump jacks around us. That seems to be the activity in the area and we stayed there for a night's just rest but kept on moving.

While we were in Pecos and wanted to see the memorial to Sean from the McCollum people, Mecca's brother, at the Rodeo Hall of Fame. It was a Sunday and they were closed. It's hard for me to be sad because I never knew him. At the end of the day, it’s just I think they're grieving in the way that they feel is appropriate. They keep him alive just like he's living right now. That's kind of cool in a way but some people would say you need to let it go.

For my purpose is Pecos was one of those places where you sleep and then leave. We rode by several churches but look like they were almost boarded up.

The only one that looked like it was happening was the Presbyterian Church and that's not my thing because of the predestination clause. We went in and it was a nice little service sharing on how one of theirs became ordained into the seminary and that was a pretty interesting little story. It wasn't so much a worship rather a time of sharing.

Pecos is oil rigs and oil drilling everywhere with trucks carrying supplies and stuff racing up and down the road like mad it’s because that's how you make the most money. I thought someone said there was a drilling boom going on. I assumed it was oil but actually it was fracking. I don't care for fracking so that was kind of a drag.

I just thought this sign was cool. You want some dirt well make you up a contract
