We went on up the road to find Arches National Park and where we found a BLM a few miles away named Ken's Lake Campground. You never know what these things are going to be like but I can't complain about all it. It was all dirt roads that led to a bunch of RV sites. You could see the lake so that was visually nice. There was another area nearby that was more for just launching boats and hanging out right by the water. I had changed out my brakes back in Pecos New Mexico. It was something that couldn't wait because it was making a grinding sound when I pressed on them. For some reason, I thought the rear was okay. I kept hearing something making a noise when I backed up. At some point, Savannah said maybe it's the back brakes. I crawled under and looked back there and they were just ground down to nothing. I went ahead and bought some brake pads and figured we would do them real soon and the winner was Kens Lake. I had asked someone if I took the rear wheels off was it a big deal. Since it has dual wheels I was afraid it might be taking bearings apart or something. They seem to think that wasn't the case and once I got the wheels off the ground it wasn't that bad. I proceeded to do the job and it wasn't that hard but it is a little weird out there in the dirt. After I did that, we were in pretty good shape to go on a hike or something.
It was good stuff and we got a couple of pictures and videos. When I was looking back at these pictures I could see I had become with child. I knew then I had to do something about my weight but it hasn’t changed much since.

We went to Arches National Park it was pretty packed. There was a long line of cars to get in at about 1 p.m. It is a bit of a sprawling thing so it's more of driving around the occasional hiking thing than just anything else. We went to the visitor center and learned a little bit about this and that then we started driving around. It was all very interesting and pretty. We found out that about 3/4 down the way the road was closed and you couldn't go see three of the four biggest arches. They included the most iconic of them and that was a disappointment. We began to enjoy so many other rock formations. There was a lot more to see here than just the arches. They were doing road construction or creating a new campground or something. We stayed and hiked a bit a half-day or so and headed back to Ken's lake and that wrapped it up for us.

A funny thing happened when we first got there. I got set up I looked over at the mountain and it looks like there was a blob of white paint over there. I wanted to know who would pollute up my pretty Mountain like that with graffiti. I got the binoculars and looked and the really big blob of white paint was a waterfall. I certainly felt a little silly about that. and yes, I thought we were needed to turn it into a hike because it was pretty hot out 95 or 100. We packed up and drove the truck up till we got to trailhead went on a walk. When we finally got there we would need to get wet so we had bathing suits on under our clothes. We just kind of just followed the path for the longest time. At some point, the path started following the creek a few feet away. It was a swift-moving stream. I wondered if it was snowmelt from a glacier somewhere miles away then through the rock formation to here. As we got closer we finally got to the prettiest part and it’s just a gorgeous waterfall. The water was ice cold and Savannah and I got in. I think we're the more the crazy types but eventually, all 3 of us got all in there and like to froze to death.
