So much of what we've done, we've learned as we go. We entered into Mariposa and were looking for the fairgrounds because that's where we had decided to stay. The first time we visited Yosemite we stayed at the escapees Park in Coarsegold. Truth is it's a mighty long drive one way to get there like about an hour and a half. We had every desire to be much closer this time so we were nibbling at it best we could to get closer. Mariposa was on the edge of it but it's still pretty good ride. It's the last only small town with all kinds of services before you head up the hill towards Yosemite. Somewhere near Indian flat, you might see a gas station or maybe 1 hotel here and there but no more towns. We had no idea where the fairgrounds were going to be because we were just driving through a lot of wooded areas like a country mountain road. We just kind of went around the corner and down the hill and suddenly we were just sort of in Mariposa. The GPS said to go around the corner to the left and up a little hill and then right there were the fairgrounds. It was a rather large grassy field with just one or two rigs here and there. I like when we end up in places like this because we kind of had the place to ourselves. We came in on a Friday after we had dropped off the generator back at the bottom of the hill right at closing time.
We went to a church service in Mariposa on Sunday morning and they were very friendly and we enjoyed that a good bit. About all we did was grilled something out and enjoyed life. We went into town a little bit and I bought one more throttle position sensor on the outside chance that I might have more problems. I had made a decision that I needed to change the wiring going from the truck computer up to the throttle position sensor and I was going to change it at Yosemite while we're there. I just decided that I needed to have an extra one with me just in case. If I got lucky and there were no more problems, I had every intention of returning for a refund later. Although I enjoyed our visit there Mariposa it was kind of uneventful. It was a nice little place to visit so we got ready to head up the hill to El Portal.

Generator story
Back in St. George Utah, the guys at the Honda Dealership helped me find a Honda dealer that could fix the starter. Yosemite was the next place where I planned to stay for an extended time. I called Merced and they sounded like they could make it happen. Merced is on the edge of Yosemite. We made an arrangement that I would drop it off there and they could get the part ordered or something like that and it would go smoothly. It seemed to make sense to drop the generator off on the way to Mariposa. We wanted to spend a good bit of time at Yosemite and as soon as the part arrives, they could install it and I could go back and get the generator. It would give them the time they needed. Instead of just standing around I could enjoy Yosemite while the part was on the way.
We spent two days at Mariposa Fairgrounds and then headed towards Indian flat in El portal.
