We were hop skipping in 2-hour increments towards the California coast to be on Highway 1 to go north.
I was just looking for a nice place to be and sometimes the campgrounds aren't that available but Fairgrounds pop up here and there. The San Benito Fairgrounds popped up and I was happy to have it.
It was very affordable at maybe $25 and we had the whole place to ourselves. I remember wanting to go see a significant place called Pinnacles National Park about an hour away and you know we never quite made it. I think I got a little lazy about how far it was out of the way.
We enjoyed our visit to San Benito. It was a nice little fairground in a tiny little town. It was just such a treat to see all these little hidden gems around the country.
Now we are in one of the largest states in the whole country. We're art the in-between part between the mountains but not quite to the California coast.
So many people don't realize that it's all about small towns and agriculture. We are indeed going in the direction of San Francisco but all these tiny little towns are the bulk of what the country is made of. I just kind of like being in these tiny little places. We were there on the 4th of July and when we looked up there were fireworks to be seen in the distance. We didn't go way out of our way to see them. We went to a Mexican restaurant once or twice. Sometimes when we're hop skipping across the country it's just a place to rest for two nights before we drive two or three more hours. It may not be amazing or delightful but it's just another one of the stops. I kind of wish it was something amazing to say about San Benito but it was just a place I haven't been to and now I have.
