We went to Cape Blanco and there was no vacancy so I found a site over at the empty horse camp. After that, I went to ask forgiveness instead of permission. The horse campsites are all empty and available and vacant every night this week. We wanted 2 nights. It was a really large area with about 8 or 10 spots where you could camp with your horse. It was also an hour or so before dark.

They told me I had to leave because I had no horse.
It seems that it just comes down to rules are rules but just sucks when these things happen so we had to leave.
When we didn't have a lot of options at this point because it was near getting closer to closer to dark.
Went north on 101 looking for a boondock and tried a city-run RV park but they were full. My next effort was near Langlois where I found a large DOT boondock pull-out that allowed a night’s sleep.
It was kind of a DOT kind of large pile of gravel place. There was a place where I could kind of tuck in behind everything by giving us some privacy and check this out of sight from passing cars.
I didn't have any issues all night but the first thing that morning around 7 ish some guy came in to start his day with either dropping off a dump truck picking up some gravel or doing something.
It seems like if they're going to start loading out gravel or being busy then it was about time to go, so I did
