Cottonwood BLM campground was near Ellis Idaho so we were looking for a place to stay and I found a blip on free campsite. It had electricity and water was available nearby and a dump station up the hill. We were right on the Salmon River and which is just beautiful. I'm just saying it was gorgeous and peaceful and cost like dollars a night.
This is where I started walking using the phone app that measures my steps and I have been pretty good about it so far. The campground itself is just kept up so beautifully. It was just a very Idaho place. I think the scenic drive from Ketchum through Stanley to Ellis was the prettiest I think I have ever been on. The Coastal Highway along California and north was gorgeous but this one was even more beautiful. There were hot springs right in the middle and it was the kind of day where we couldn't stop but dang it I wish I had.
