We went to Tally Lake Campground in Whitefish Montana. We have some friends we knew from Wilmington that moved here. We stayed for 6 nights. This is the view from the living room.

The site is just a pull-out along the road but you have a front-row seat for the lake. There is no water or electric but when the weather is nice electricity isn’t that important. We filled our tank with water and took showers at the campground bathhouse. The only negative is to get to the campground you are on a dirt road for about 6 miles after you leave the main asphalt road.

This place set us back $7 a night. We're pretty happy about that. You're not supposed to talk about how old women are but India just qualified for the senior Parks pass so now we get half off of everything we do and free all the parks.

I went on a strenuous hike. I just managed to go vertically a thousand feet or so. There was a trial called number 804. It is a bunch of vertical switchbacks and you finally get to the summit and overlook Talley lake. It is pretty up here and I wanted to capture that. The trail was uphill the whole way so it's basically a loop that goes right back down. That means it's kind of a reward the whole way down.

About two to three weeks ago I found out I was with child. Apparently, it's growing in my abdomen and it's about 30 pounds. I don't know how it happened but the internet said if I walked three and a half miles a day it will go away. I've been walking the 7300 steps day for about two weeks now every day or at least mostly. It's a good thing and I need to stay with it as it's too late in life to have a baby.
Our friends are Tom, Lori Nugent, and 2 kids. They live in Whitefish Montana which is the only real reason why we dropped by Talley Lake. It was about maybe 10 miles away from their place.
We had come through a year earlier and they had had their new house dried in and mostly roughed in.
Now it was finished and they were living there. It's a pretty house and it was nice to see the fruit of their efforts. We visited and had some dinners. We had put our house on the market but had no bites. Lori turned me on to a realtor that ended up being a success for us. The first realtor just couldn't get the job done.

Sunset in Whitefish
One afternoon Tom, his son Port and I went on cross country BMX bike ride out through the fields and up the hills. It about killed me and we ended up at a lake somewhere. The girls had gone there by car and we all went down and went swimming and it was a nice visit. Savannah spent most of her time hanging out with their daughter Marina. She’s only 12 but Savannah has always felt like a big sister around her. I think it also allows Savannah to enjoy being her inner child.
As we leave the Nugent’s we are heading east to Browning Montana. We are slowly heading east on a route that follows the Great Northern Railway. It is the rail path that people took from New York to Glacier back in the 1900s. The highway version is called Highway 2. We hardly need a GPS for the next month because it's one highway all the way to New York.
