Our next stop was a boondock. It was a ski lift area that wasn’t being used for anything because it was fall at best and we don't ski until winter. It was the kind of a place where people would park the car and go skiing. Not a resort just accesses to the slopes for a fee. I found it on the days end directory. I entered and was looking for where we might park. It's kind of okay but not okay. It's just one of those places where somebody's boondocked here, put it down as okay because no signs are forbidding it. Maybe it’s okay with the staff they just don't encourage it. I parked and went to speak with some construction guys I saw across the way. They said they didn’t have any authority here but they were pretty sure no one would care. I found a place way over in the corner where we wouldn’t bother anyone. We settled in and I saw a mighty beautiful sunset. India and I wanted to go to recovery meetings and so we left and got a bite to eat. Savannah hung out at the dairy queen-type restaurant while we went to our meetings. They had WIFI and it seemed safe enough to me. After that, it was 9 pm or so.

Well, when we got to the entrance of this public area, I found myself with a teeny bit of a surprise. The gates are closed and were locked out now. The RVs is happy but we're not. I'm a little concerned about what to do next. Just outside the gate, I saw a sign that said no overnight parking. I like to think that's because people might boondock on the outside of the gate and the neighborhood doesn't care for that.

I saw most of the people were doing on-street parking in front of their houses. I dropped India and Savannah off and found a vacant spot a couple of thousand feet away from the gate. I parked the truck and walked to the RV. The next day the world was waking up a little bit and I got to thinking back to the old mantra that you can do anything you want for one night but don't stay too long. I saw some worker bees over there starting their day. The gate was open now. I got the feeling that it might be better to leave now. We already had our grace so we better just go. Needless to say, we were in a fairly densely populated neighborhood so there were school buses and school children and people off to work. Driving the rig through this neighborhood made me feel I was way too big for the area and I wanted to be elsewhere. We went up to the top of the hill out to the main road and went to a Walmart-looking store. I went around back and it was an enormous parking lot. I parked way over there right along the wood line. I put my slide out to where we could move about the rig. I let Bert go out and explore the woods a little bit. We just kind of chilled and had breakfast and just kind of messed around about for several hours.
