On days end directory for Pembroke, New Brunswick Canada there's a visitor's center for the area. An interesting attraction is an overlook and a restaurant at the reversing falls.
It's an interesting physical waterway type thing where you got the normal flow of a river going one way and then the tide change going the exact opposite way. Even though it's not much of an incline it's like rapids that seem to be flowing uphill. It might be a one or two-foot elevation change.
But at certain times of the day, it's kind of calm and flowing say left to right and then the tide starts changing so even though it's still flowing left to right the tide starts flowing four times harder right to left and it just sits there and boils and it’s a reversing waterfall. It's like a waterfall lying flat going uphill.
Well, it's pretty neat and they had several parking areas and we got off to ourselves or towards the end try to get out of everybody's way. It was a nice boondock for us. We went to a church up the hill on Sunday morning. I'm going to take some pictures because it was one of those 100-year-old gorgeous churches. We had a nice lunch after and that was our visit to Pembroke at St. John.
