#225 Bangor Maine Hollywood Casino RV park

We went to Bangor and I went to the Casino because it was a boondock or that they allowed free overnight parking. When we arrived it was dark and rainy. I did a lap around back to look about but there was almost nowhere to park.

I found a place to park the RV near enough and walked over to talk to them.

They said that they could give me a voucher type slip to put on my windshield and they did allow overnight parking. It was close enough to free. They charged something like a 5 dollar a day parking fee. They also said it would be appropriate if I would come by and gamble. They gave me directions to the parking area about a mile away. I passed by what seemed to be a fairgrounds area with horse stables.

The interesting thing is that it had water and electric and even sewer.

The problem is the sewer line was blocked and didn't work. We used a different connection across the way to dump as we left the park.

We stayed for the night and we went over to the casino and lost $20 gambling. I like to play video blackjack off and on. Sometimes I would double my money and get a free meal and a few times in a row I lost. After I lost about two or three times in a row, I decided that would be about enough of it. I guess my lucky streak was over.

To avoid being tempted to go too far, I had a method. I would leave my wallet with the credit cards and such behind. I would walk into the casino with 20 dollars cash. I would either lose it all and stop or I would play till I doubled it then walk away. One time I doubled it then played on, wishing to make even more. Pretty soon I was back to 20 and still didn’t stop until I had lost it all. Wow, I showed them.

They had so many video versions of spin the wheel type matching 3. It's all computer-generated and it was all just random spin. I just felt like there was no skill to it. There's nothing you could do to make it randomly win so at least with blackjack you had to think.

I took some pictures of a pretty old church and a nice wall mural.

When daylight came, I realized that it was actually also a race track with horses. That explained why I saw horse stables.

For us, Bangor was not excitement central it was a place to crash. We went to Walmart as we had ordered a number of things online and we had to go into Bangor Maine to get our packages.
