I felt some intimidation when we went across the bridge into Canada. I just felt like wow what if we get in trouble even if we’re not criminals. We drove past customs and they didn't have a problem with us and we're allowed to live. I found the next few campgrounds online and I had hoped to do some boondocking.
I found out sadly that Canadian National parks and what we might call state parks were very expensive. They had some rules that said okay the price is approximately $45 a night but since you're an American and you’re transient we're going to charge you $25 extra. This makes it $70 to park my RV and said that just wasn't meant to be. I'm sure they're beautiful places and all but dang y'all.
The first stop was a private RV park. Nothing to complain about, kind of a two-hour stop and friendly enough people. Nothing amazing happened here. I seem to remember getting a bite to eat that's about it. We went to a Sunday service and we certainly enjoyed visiting with the folks. It was called the United Church instead of the United Methodist Church. We had seen one of these in California. The congregation decided that they didn't agree with the Dogma enough to be United Methodist so now they're just United. It's a pretty interesting thing and of course, I'm sure they save a lot of money on the apportionment dues. I noticed the order of service was the same as well as the hymn book. I guess some people say they enjoy the benefit of being a part of such a big International Group. I imagine these folks would tell you we don't care.
I have an interesting way of talking to people endlessly. I spoke to a fellow after the church service and he said there were some mighty pretty places to be seen. He gave me directions for an hour or so road trip. He suggested I should take this way back towards Serpent River Campground. He just insisted it was a really scenic drive and a neat way to see the area. We took him up on it and that's exactly what we did. It was very pretty but that would be serpent River and enjoyed it and moved on.
