I had some mixed emotions about Venture Out. We reserved a site there for three days and I can't really complain. We arrived and they showed us what they had available and it at the end of a canal. The layout of this RV park was that most everyone had waterfront access either on the waterway or by canal. they cut 20 different canals deep into the acreage so that you could put 20 RVs on either side of the canal times 20.
Each spot had a place to moor a boat where you could just walk out to the back of your RV and launch a boat, paddle out to the edge and you'd be in the Keys on the Ocean side. It was all calm water. We were in something of a bay not the actual Atlantic but sort of a protected area.
I really thought where we were staying was a little slice of heaven.

I saw a sign that said you're not allowed to walk your dog on the property You have to take them to the outdoor area outside the property. I think it's because they pee and poop in people’s yards. In places like this the yard is the size of a kitchen table. When you comply with the rule wouldn’t you be walking the dog until you get to the place where walking the dog is allowed. Are you were supposed to get a doggie baby stroller or golf cart and carry them to the edge of the ‘property? My take away is you are supposed to walk them to the appropriate walking area by walking them which is against the rules. I’ve always known I don’t have what it takes to live within an HOA type place.
Because they were so conscious about dogs I certainly didn't think they wanted cats wandering around. I was a little concerned that my cat might make someone mad if he left our slab but no one ever really noticed him.
There was some landscaping on the left and the right of us and I hoped that would occupy Bert. Back on the mainland I had noticed my slide out was making weird noises as it closed. I looked under ans noticed a metal part had sheared. I had bought an affordable welder for the price of a service call. I decided to try the welding job here at the Keys. I was pleased with my abilities as it was an ugly weld but it held fast.
We enjoyed our stay here they even had a little church service on Sunday which is kind of a non-denominational sort of thing.
I thought maybe I'll extend a night and they said no it's already taken. I looked and there were some ads on Craigslist for monthly. They weren't quite as nice as these canal lots and they were $3,000 month. I wish there was a way that we could have it Randall’s way with everything that the resort offers except a larger site with some woods for Bert to play that’s not three thousand a month. Maybe someday we'll find an opportunity on the edge of someone’s estate. I would be an onsite electrician and handyman on their land with a million dollar view. Other than that its hard to find a place I would want to stay at in the Keys. We looked at some really bad trailer parks at Big Pine key for 800 but they were really slums.
As we were leaving the Keys I emailed Leann and told her I could move the rig for her as that was my whole reason for initially meeting her. I did and helped myself to the antenna on its roof. I figured moving it for her was my way of keeping my word from our first email. It would also compensate her for the horrible night we spent with her. With that we headed back to the mainland.
