#276 SHENANDOAH RIVER STATE PARK BENTONVILLE VA

Shenandoah River State Park Virginia didn't have much of a T mobile signal but that was unimportant because it was very pretty. We drove the lower half of the Skyline Drive. We went on two different hikes

During the first part of the visit, our hike was called The Dark Hollow Falls. It was about a 3 Mile round trip and it's all downhill to the falls but then going back about kills you. The falls were absolutely beautiful pictures so I took a lot of pictures.

The second hike was called Fire road and it was also a bit hard in some parts. As we were walking back up the hill we decided to rest and lay back and look up at the sky. After lying for a while, we leaned up and I saw that there was a raccoon kind of checking us out. I never could quite figure out what his deal was because I feel like he was stalking us like maybe we had a picnic lunch. Maybe he was going to get it while we were dozing.

When we set up and looked at him, he stood up on his back legs and was moving his arms around looked as if he was trying to say I'm big and bad, and don't mess with me. All I can say is you are funny looking. I got the biggest kick out of him. He was such a character.

We had reserved Shenandoah for 3 nights but I began to look at our situation and became a little scared that we were getting a little too short on the time to get to Wilmington in time to vote. We decided to leave one day early.

We stopped over at KOA Charlottesville for one night and then on to Oak Hollow in High Point for 2 nights then on to Wilmington to vote.
