I had put a gap in between leaving and arriving at state parks. I believe there was a reason why but it was a year ago when I made the reservations and it escapes me now. We needed a place for one night as we were scheduled to leave on a Sunday at Wekiva Springs and we were to check in at Hillsborough on a Monday. We entertained boondocking but it's always nice when you can find a decent place. We began to look around and there were some county-operated RV parks. One was used for horse shows and boarding and such things. It wasn’t that far away so we went by for a look. It would have been fine but it was a little out of our way. I saw the strangest family living on a school bus. They had done no renovations to make it an RV. It still had all the seats and just a mattress plopped in the back area. It was getting warm in the mid part of the day and they had no ac. I saw a Mom and 2 or 3 little kids just sitting on a log at the back of the bus trying to stay cool. They had looks on their faces that seemed like they had a sad story to tell. This seemed more like a homelessness solution than out having fun in the RV. Next, we went by a county park called Magnolia that was 15 minutes from us and on our path to Hillsboro River. This recon trip was a week before leaving Wekiwa. As we rode around we noticed the way the trees were growing it seems like it wasn't meant to be for our rig. They were very pretty trees but it made it seem scary for us to manage the big circular loop of the RV park. I even saw a big chunk missing out of one of the trees where somebody had misjudged and tore a hole in their RV. At first, we thought no and then we took another look and yes and pick the site that seem the most appropriate longest easiest to get into, and made a reservation for one night. They had a nice cheap price of $17 for Water and Electric and everything was great.

It was visually pleasing that right across the street is Lake Apopka. I don't know the exact size but man this is a big lake. I mean like 5 miles across 20 miles long. This was just a nice little county park where people were having picnics and family reunions and stuff like that. We had done some walking and there was nothing to complain about it. It was nice but I wouldn't want to live there but it was good for one night and that was Magnolia
