Arbuckle Lake was near Frostproof Florida. It wasn’t on our list of candidates but it was a two-hour stop. On the way, we passed a Cargill plant for processing oranges. I took some pictures of the plant because I was a little disturbed about how much they hated Hillary. They were so blatant about it. I took pictures and they proudly flew a nice Rebel Confederate flag with banners saying Make America Great Again ( white again).

All along the chain-link fence of the factory was just a lot of hateful info about Hillary. I just thought these guys are kind of well, wow. This means this is how the workers feel and the company supports it all. Once again, greed, hate, the confederate flag, Trump.
I used to think Florida was liberal but I must’ve been thinking about the Keys or maybe Miami. Florida is not liberal.
When we got to the campground it was down a bit of a twisty road. I had found it on free camp.net. The site showed two possible locations. I dropped the rig to take a look and compare locations. First I went to what I call the big campground. It had a lake view and a hook-up.
We look at the smaller one which was a large enough campground with easy access for a big rig but no hookups. They charged 10 or 15 a night for basically a boondock.
I went with the other one which was federal so it's like $22 or something. It's got Water and Electricity so it was a no-brainer.
I remember meeting the fella that was the campground host and I guess old codger comes to mind. He wasn't exactly friendly but he was neutral. He wasn't mean either just not really much of a conversationalist. He took the money and it was cash only with a pen and paper receipt. We went down toward the lake to look around a little bit. We made some notes for future possibilities.
The next morning we figured we'd take a look at one of the church services in town. We got in the truck and the battery was dead. I guess I accidentally left something on all night. I attached the tether from the truck to the camper and the camper battery would begin to charge the truck. It took about 15minutes but it did crank. As we left out I was going down the main road and I looked left. At no more than 4 feet off the ground just sitting on a tree limb was a very big beautiful bald eagle. I’ve never seen one this close up in the wild so I was all over myself with joy.
I slowly backed up and I don't know how but he was still there. I fumbled around trying to get the camera going. I wanted to take a picture so bad but by the time I got it ready he had flown off. It was great to experience it but I hate that I couldn't capture it on film.

We didn't do a lot here but Arbuckle Lake was a pleasant place to stay. It had the low rent area look with a few long-term tenants. Our area was grassy but most were dirt with all dirt roads. The lake view and nature part helped balance that out.
