When we got back to Jordan lake the water was too deep for them to re-open. I wanted to retrieve my fake grass and a wood sculpture I had been carving on.

I went by and the contractor was at the gate waiting for concrete to arrive and he let me go get my wood I was in and out 5 minutes.

After the hurricane, we went back to the Raleigh area to continue just basically helping Ben with the bus. I had planned on doing sort of a fall excursion to see the colors in mid-October.

We ended up at Falls lake and it was a little remote but had a grocery store within about 6 miles. We spoke to the ranger about how we had to leave our camp host job early due to the hurricane. The maximum one can stay at a site is 14 days. Being camp host alumni they let us stay put for 25 days .

I would spend a day or two on the weekends helping Ben and the rest of my time fixing this or going there. In mid-October, we went to see our colors. My crystal ball did not know that this trip was going to radically change everything. This is where I hit a bridge and had to get a new rig.
