First, stop October 15th Longwood Park

Our first stop on the autumn leaves excursion was a place called Longwood Park. It was a Corps of Engineers park near Clarksville Virginia right at the border of Virginia and North Carolina. We found it to be a very pleasant little place.

As we arrived the camp host made a point of saying that we might or might not get in because it's been flooded quite severely from the hurricane.

For some reference, I took a lot of pictures.

This is normal

Not so much

The campsites have 7 ft poles with hooks on them where you hang your garbage. In some cases, the water was up to almost these hooks, meaning 6ft higher-than-normal.

The site we found was on high ground and that worked out well. We were only there for one night but everyone was friendly and all. It was mostly just a 2-hour stop.
