It was a little intimidating, but It was time to take the new RV to the open road. I had and still have a lot of PTSD about crashing the new RV like I did the other one. We found a place somewhere near Nashville which took a little bit of effort because we didn't find anything we liked in Nashville. It was either overpriced or crowded but as I asked around and somebody referred me to Cedars of Lebanon. It appeared to be a little out of our way but when I looked at it not maybe no more than 30 minutes further east than we intended to go. That's not a big deal and we went there next.

Next, we would realize with so much stuff in the middle of the floor we had not unpacked would cause us problems. We failed to be careful of what gets hung in the slide-outs when they're going in and out.

The very moment we got to Columbus Belmont it wasn't too long before the cat door somehow got hung in the slide-out mainly from me just being absent-minded.

It got so bad around up between the sofa and a slide-out that made a little Mark on the wallpaper which was a heartbreaker being a brand new unit. You would think that we would have learned everything we ever needed to know from this incident but not so much. Arriving at Lebanon Tennessee things were still falling about getting hung up if you're not careful so my biggest mistake was sliding out too quickly without going into the RV to check if everything was good to go before we slid in and out. I think it was the spinning wheel this time but it got hung up pretty good and a few other things and it kind of crushed the spinning wheel a little bit and a picture frame. One of these objects got so bound up I heard a popping noise during the slide-out function. Now the slide-out is all catawampus.

I thought about maybe trying to do some adjustment. then I figured since we've only had the rig for one week I'll just pay the guy to do it right.

I looked around to see if somebody wanted to come to us but the responsive guy said he didn't do house calls. He said if we could bring it to him on Monday he would take care of it. We did and we were going to do this and then leave town. Even though we got there fairly early it took all day.

They found that when the suitcase got wedged and the slide-out being quite strong being pushed by hydraulic ram sheared the gear tooth right off of the rack and pinion.

It took a while to figure it out and he welded it on. He had the parts in stock which is really cool but it took about a whole day. We eventually left at maybe 3 in the afternoon and had to give many hundreds of dollars to get it fixed but this was my big spanking. Spending money I how I learned to stop being absent-minded about the slide-out obstructions.

I always say whenever I spend money the memory sticks longer and we have not had any mistakes with a slide-out since.

We didn't do too much at Lebanon except rest and get the slide-out fixed but it was a pretty little place. We went into town and had Mexican food nothing too exciting just to a 2 hour stop.
