Stop 2 W.P. Franklin N Lake Okeechobee
The next day we drove to WP Franklin which is below Fort Myers.

It was quite nice. I was concerned watching Bert as he explored the edge of the lake. From where the land ends the lake is fully covered with lily pads to about 20 feet out. This seemed like a great place for an alligator to be waiting in ambush. I took a paddle and slapped it all along the edge of the water line so if there had been a gator it would have stirred him up but I saw none. Bert insisted on being right at the waterline where he would be easy prey. I made Bert come inside the RV for his safety. He was mad about that but sometimes we have to be the grownups.
WP Franklin only had availability for one night and it was a football field or so long.
India and I went on a nice walk and we were at a Lock and Dam trying to figure out how it all works. On one side it was fresh water and on the other side it was salt water and people were fishing all about. It was all very interesting we walked probably two miles. I think it would be a nice place to stay but only if you could get one of the 3 or 4 sites that are on the wood line. It also stays heavily booked I assume because it has the senior discount.
