Two hours away was White Oak creek. It was in or near the town of Eufaula and I guessed how it got its name. I decided somebody said I'll lead you you follow. I assume that "you follow" got turned into Eufaula. We settled into a nice little camping spot right by the river. The night we got there we were looking for a restaurant and there was only one unless you wanted to drive 10 miles into Eufaula. We went over and took a look and remember almost nothing had reopened from COVID-19 yet and so when it said we are open we were very pleased. We ordered and had a nice meal and we talked to the young lady who was our waitress. She just said you know it's been really slow and I just moved here so I'm just a little nervous.
My brother Wesley has been a big tipper for a long time. He does it all the time. He had said you know you can change somebody's afternoon that way if you ever feel led. Consider it spreading the wealth out. I knew the lady had been at work all day, I mean for hours, and hadn't had one tip because she said we were the first customers. After we were finished I told her I knew it was slow and left a $20 tip and it kind of blew her mind. It felt good to spread some of the wealth around and we thought she could use a little.

We found a cool lighthouse at the far end of the lake
The next day I kept watching the wind forecast as I wanted to do some kayak sailing. I looked at the weather underground and noted the wind direction. I wanted to go pretty good ways away to where we could put in at a boat ramp and then have the wind at my back taking me towards the campground. India and I took the truck 6 miles away to the put-in place. She would have to drive the truck back home but she did fine. It’s not like she can’t drive the dually, she just finds it intimidating.
I started my trek and it was a little slow going and first because I was in a back channel but when I get out to the mouth of the creek the wind was blowing pretty good. I was able to put the sail out and I don't think I hit the paddle one time except for steering. It got a little rough and I mean what seemed like 3-ft waves. It might have been an illusion but it was a little creepy so I kind of kept it fairly near the shore. I was able to fly for 6 miles and I was just thrilled. I was able to land into my cove and at that point, I had to pretty much paddle it on into the campsite. You talk about a great afternoon, it was wonderful. Well, that winds it up for White Oak Creek but we had a great time.
