Turkey Creek was a 2-hour stop and we didn’t know what to expect so we signed up for one night and then after we settled in, we signed up for 3 more. I found it sort of humorous thing that the way that maps brought us in was through what seemed like 27 turns through town. I called ahead and talked to the host to make sure they were open. They suggested we go this way and I can only assume the other way would have been horrible. Later I realized the alternative would have been bumpy dirt roads so wiggly was fine after all. We were allowed to pick any unoccupied site and I think we kind of hit the jackpot. This park gets full on the weekends so being that we were there early we found one with a perfect view of the water. It was really cozy and off to ourselves so we were quite happy here.

I worked on a few little projects on the RV but did very little. We went to town and had a bite to eat sometimes and went to a barbecue place that was kind of an adventure. We sat down and it seemed like they were kind of short-handed but they got our order taken and while we were sitting there waiting the power went out. We were in a heavy thunderstorm and I guess something went wrong but we were sitting there wondering if they were going to be able to cook up what we had ordered. I guess it worked out pretty well because you know barbecue is something you make early in the morning or the day before so everything was kind of already cooked. My complaint was just that I felt like the portions were small, the size of your hand, and it was like $14 which was a little disappointing. It seems that Turkey Creek was the kind of place where you didn't do much of anything, you just enjoyed being there. The way it felt to me was that we had been hopping across doing one-night stops and was time to be still for at least 3 days and in our case, we went with four.
