Finding a place to RV right in Denver can be a little troublesome on Labor Day. There were a number of commercial places that were all kind of overpriced and all but there were no cool state parks or federal parks right near town that weren't booked. I looked on harvest host and there was a winery and so I called and asked if they could accommodate us for one night and they said I guess so; we have five of you coming in so it will be crowded as suppose I'll just let you guys work that out. Because she said it would be crowded we wanted to get there pretty early so we got there before noon. When we arrived there was only one camper there and we pulled in or backed in and such a way that we did not want to be super close to them. I took whatever time it took to put her way over there to the far left. It was an Airstream camper and if I had done the easy thing, I'd have been about five feet from their front door and I did not think that would be very polite. There you have it.

We spent some time messing around in town for a while. We had decided to have the truck washed at a detail place. They were just a little high so I went and washed it myself then had them detail the inside. We did some grocery shopping and fuel stuff and were able to find a place that did recycling. The recycling was near a fire department. There was a sign that said if you want to leave a baby with us there will be no consequences but do not leave one unattended on our doorstep. That just seemed eerie to me as if it's happening way too much. After we got a bite to eat, we got back and started dealing with the heat and it was kind of rough about now. In Denver, it was a hundred degrees and I thought I was going to die. This was a boondock so no utilities of any kind. We ran the air and that helped but then began having electrical problems that just about drove me crazy.

For reasons I did not know then I could not keep the air conditioner running. Later I found out that the cord umbilical that goes from our RV to the generator had a bad prong and no longer worked. It would work for a moment then it wouldn't then it would. I thought maybe the generator was bad. I took a very large 14-gauge cord and plugged it into the shore power connector at the rear of the RV and the air conditioner was working using that bypass method. I even thought the transfer switch was broken so I went in and did some wiring there but later I would realize that wasn't the problem. Finally, we were able to run the air until evening then it cooled off a little bit and didn't need it as much.

I wanted to use the inverter now the inverter won't work. Later on, I found out there was nothing wrong with the generator and the inverter problem was an automatic switch inside the unit. When you're in the midst of it it's a bad situation. We got a good night's sleep but I was so ready to get out of that place by the next morning.
