This would be our last stop before arriving in the Fallbrook area. It was on freecamp.net and also on the day's end directory. We pulled in and tried to figure out where to go as it was a large parking lot and overflow dirt area up above the casino. That was good for us because we could kind of stretch out and not be right on top of everybody. We know how to find Bert now these days with his tracker collar but that doesn't keep him from being crazy. We parked and got comfortable and the strangest thing happened we went out to get a bite to eat and fuel for the truck. When we came back Bert wasn't really easy to find so I looked around for him using the cat finder and it pointed toward somebody else's rig. He had crawled up inside the engine compartment of a class A motorhome. While I was pondering they came home and I told them I would try to encourage him to come out but I wanted to get their permission first. People might be a little bothered if they came home and a guy was laying under their rig screaming at a cat. I took some tiny pebbles and threw them up at him and he ran back to our rig. Next, we put him in jail for the rest of the night.

We had another dilemma here at the casino. The rig had been making some strange noises while sliding in and out. The rooms are all slid out and when it was time to leave when we tried to slide in it just made a really big noise and a popping sound and then nothing else happened after that. My first thought is, I don't know I didn't know what to think. To find out what was going on I opened up the underneath belly pan with a razor knife to look inside. The hydraulic ram that actuates the slides in and out had come off of its mount and had kind of rammed itself into the corner of the RV crushing all kinds of wires along the way. It looks like a horrible mess under there.

I may not know everything but I am handy so all I could do is try to understand how it works and what had happened. I told India to retract the slide and I could see the hydraulic ram functioning and once it was retracted it was less bound up and I could see more of what was happening. I don't know how or why but the bolts and nuts that hold it came loose. It took some time to understand how it functioned but I put the bolt back into place and even if it was making a strange groaning noise I was able to fix it enough to slide in once. I had that accomplished and we were kind of ready to go.

I don't think we ever actually met the people at the casino we just called and they told us to park up on the hill and we did. The part was great having to fix the RV was not so much fun. Bert running off and jumping in somebody's rig is not so great. Good news, we were close to our destination which was now about an hour away called Fallbrook. Fun fact, all this was happening on January 3 which was my birthday. I told India we needed to delete today and have my better birthday at our next convenience.
