Here's another place we had certainly never heard of. They didn't allow reservations so we came by on a Wednesday or Thursday and they had one site available. The lady at the kiosk said on the weekend sometimes the cars will be backed up for a mile trying to get into the boat ramp. The place is exactly as it sounds it is a very big bend in the middle of the Colorado River. It is of course, very pretty but everything else is a complete desert. There had been a pretty big fire there that came through a while back and we saw lots of char but the water is always pretty. We went on a nice hike and lost sight of the trail for a while so that made the hike longer than it had to be.

Whenever we got to the checking in part she said I don't have a whole lot for you but there is an ADA site that I can give you because it's kind of that time of day. I can let you have it but it's just for one night and so I took it and we were happy enough. I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to orient my ring to where the driver's side was facing west because it was pretty dang hot. I just ended up wiggling back and forth so much that I made tire marks on the concrete and I felt a little bad about that.

When you leave out of the park you can go into town and get a bite to eat we ended up going to one of the Panda Express which we had not been to before. The name of the town was called Laughlin. It had a casino. I'm often amazed at what people like because none of this was very appealing to me. I think it was so close to Arizona which did not allow gambling and it was just across the border to Nevada which did allow it. I mean people like all that but it just didn't do anything for me and was not exactly anything I would rush towards. It was a nice place to visit or at least a nice place to explore.
