When were at Castle Rocks I wanted to see if there was a UU service somewhere in the vicinity and one came up in Twin Falls. We went on their website to find out what was up and they said, Hi everybody let's meet at the hot springs called Nat Soo Pah to have an outdoor service, a meal, and a nice soak. That sounded kind of exciting because I love hot springs and it would be kind of neat to have a UU service, especially one like this. The only problem is we would have to leave on Sunday at about 7 am to get there by 9 and we also intended to stay there at the campground just to make it simple. I made all the arrangements for the reservation and yes, we did leave very early from Castle Rocks.

We were there about an hour before the service started which we thought was very smart on our end. We got settled in and then I went back up to the front desk just to make sure of where all they were meeting. She said I don't see that exact group but it was probably made under someone's name rather than the name of the fellowship. I went back to the website just for fun to look and the event at the hot springs had been the week prior so after getting up got over early packing up and getting there and leaving at 7 am we were actually there on the wrong Sunday. In my defense, I feel the reason I got tricked is I was reading some sort of a church email that said we'll be looking forward to seeing you Sunday at the hot springs and it was just happened to be the newsletter from the week before that they hadn't updated yet. I must have been looking at it on like a Tuesday who knows but we had to make the best of it and after we settled in and such that afternoon we went and had a really nice soak at the hot springs and it was very hot and very wonderful. There was also a swimming pool that was at normal temperature and people were having a really good time. India and I enjoyed how hot the water was as it was very relaxing. It looked like it almost could rain so we headed back towards the RV. It was a bit of a disappointment because that cloud looked like it would be a thunderstorm turned out to be a really heavy windstorm. It reminded me of the towns we read about during the dust bowl years because it came roaring through at what seemed like 30 miles an hour and had a sandstorm abrasiveness to it. We just kind of stayed inside a little bit for the most part but I found an area where the RV was blocking the wind and I just sat out there and enjoyed the wind storm. Most of it was being blocked by the RV so I wasn't getting pounded or anything. After a while, it was time to go inside as it became a bit much.

The next day we went into town to Twin Falls to have some civilization and a nice meal out. There were a lot of cattle ranches, farms, and country in between us and Twin Falls. It was a 25-minute ride and on the way, I saw an example of a feedlot which is the most depressing way to raise cattle.

Pic Then only a few miles away I saw people doing it right. There were a dozen or so cows just wandering around in knee-high grass and it just was so amazing how different the experience was for the cows.

I praised the people who did it right and quietly hated the people that did it so badly. I pulled over to take a picture and I realized when a human pulls up to a fence with cows in a truck they come running over to you to get whatever treats you have today. I told the cows I was sorry for the tease but I was not the rancher human but just a tourist human with no sweet feed.

We have a running joke that every time we see hay we have to wave at and say hey. Well, I got to tell you they had some big hay bales out here.

I guess it's a matter of stacking them and making it look like one bale but they were about 20 feet tall by 70 feet long, really enormous.

The last time we were in Twin Falls we stayed at the fairgrounds but they said they were having some kind of music event and they were completely sold out. The hot spring was a wonderful alternative so this worked out fine. We enjoyed the hot springs for a day or two we went on up towards Idaho. Although the hots springs have a Twin Falls address it was 30 miles out in the country. Our next stop would be Ketchum and it would be a bit cooler there.
