#97 Escapees Park Bushnell Florida

We had no big problems at Hawthorne with the check engine light but since now I thought I had to figure it out each time it happened on the I will pull over pull the power from the battery Wait a minute or two and it would seem to reset the computer and also had a device. For the engine computer that can clear all codes.

Although it's a bit of a pain I was able to limp around. By doing this.

The problem seemed to becoming more often and naturally would have to happen at a red light whenever you're ready to leave out and the light turns green and you're going one mile an hour.

There's one is blowing and there's nothing I can do but as crazy as it seems I began to form a technique of having it in neutral having my foot on the emergency brake giving it a little bit of gas and going into drive and if I could get it up to 15 to 20 miles an hour the problem would go away but you just not allowed to slow down.

This happened in the middle of town and of course, it was awful but I got a little closer to Bushnell and then finally pulled in, and even as I arrived one of the guys the next day said Yeah, I saw you struggling and smoking and sputtering and the truck sounded horrible and he was right.

The next day I don't know how but we struck up a conversation and he pointed out he was kind of a handyman mobile RV guy.

I ask you everything new anybody that was a diesel mechanic nearby and he said I'm pretty good but I charge $40 and I said well it'll be worth it to me if you'll kind of take a look.

I told him that I had been getting a check engine light that throttled speed sensor problems.

He said yeah let's take a look and he took apart an access cover and he showed me the throttle speed sensor and he thought maybe it would be under the floor - near the gas pedal but he found it up at the engine with a cable going to it from the gas pedal.

He said I can tell you that this is the problem and you can get it at Advance Auto or something in town but let me warn you they're not cheap.

I called Advance Auto and he said there are $280 and non-refundable.

That means if I buy it and that's not the problem, they will not let me return it.

I remember calling Tom Sessions he's the diesel guy that has worked on my truck and Wilmington and he said there's a pretty good chance that's it there's never a guarantee and so with that in mind, I feel like I had to take a chance.

You might want to remember that I barely even got to bush now by just limping along It was time to try to do something about it now.

I went to Advance Auto and with a few hand tools took the part off when inside and they took a look at it and they gave me the exact part and I went out and I installed it and everything worked perfectly.

I went down got on the interstate did all kinds of things came back it worked great I was so pleased so now I'm heading back kind of through the residential part back towards the Escapees Park.

I stopped at a traffic light and went forward and suddenly I had a check engine light and I was going 3 miles an hour and the problem is back.

I was limping along and I was able to at least get a mile to sit down the road kind of on the shoulder and I turned right and there was a mechanic shop.

I parked the truck walked up to them and started describing what the problem was and they said wow We see this once in a while We can't get to it but if you want, we can try to clear the code for you.

They asked me to bring the truck up towards their shop and I did and they said let's take a look and they did They put the machine on it cleared the car and the problem went away and the truck ran great and I said well how much do I owe you and they said it all don't worry about it.

I just couldn't believe how nice they were So at least for now it's okay then I go on back to the Escapees Park and at this point, we've been there a day or two We might have said the third day but then it was time to go on down the road
