We headed out of Bushnell and headed south towards Wauchula We needed a little something from camper’s world and Walmart and wanted to go by at BB&T. All of this was in a town called Bartow Florida. We pulled into town, did our errands, got finished with everything and we had about another hour to go to get to Wauchula. As we left campers world thankfully the truck has been running great all-day

About a mile down the road from camper’s world the issue with the throttle sensor check engine light Dealio became a big problem again. We’re going about 5 miles an hour and that's not great. Not much I can do about it so I found a place to pull over which was just one of the large concrete driveways that would normally allow you access to a public works area but the gate was locked.

I tried removing the power I tried cleaning the connections resetting the computer but nothing I could do to clear this code. It was getting towards dusk and I certainly didn't have any answers.

I called Good Sam roadside assistance people. This is a really good company and they have bailed me out several times for my reasonable contribution of $70 per year. They have unlimited Towing and Tire so I called them and it was a very odd conversation.

I told the dispatch person at Good Sam that we were disabled and that we were safe but they wanted to know where would we like to be towed to. I told them that Towing is not a very economical way to solve a problem that would most likely cause Good Sam $150 or so and that I believed that my problem can be solved by having a mechanic come out with a proper computer and reset my engine light and I could get to my next location without a tow.

Well, the guy just insisted that the only thing they could do was a tow and they could not have a mechanic come out because that's not covered under the policy.

I think the frustrating thing that they don't realize is that when they tow my vehicle my camper is sitting on the side of the road looking like it's for sale. It's just frustrating because for the same money they could solve my problem. The bureaucratic boxes aren't there to check so I just told him I didn't think he could help me. He said well I can at least look for this mobile guy for you. They got me on the phone with some guy who does Mobile Auto repairs and he said he'd be there in about an hour. He took out his fancy computer he reset the engine light work perfectly and I had to pay him about $120 which was still a cheaper option. All this kind of makes me question is good Sam worth having. They kind of are because will come to my RV anywhere and or unlimited miles and or the truck. For now, I will keep them even though this session bothered me.
